Background: A former ninja of Iwagakure, Deidara fell in love with art since the moment he first watched a local village sculptor create a dragon from mere bits of clay. To create something so beautiful, to create art became his passion. He studied long and hard, ignoring his academy lessons for art, studying how to create wonderful things with his hands. However each time he was unsatisfied with his work, finding it it armature and pathetic. He yearned for a way he could combine his natural ninja skills with his beautiful artwork.
He studied and studied, read up on countless forms of ninjutsu, genjutsu, all forms of styles until he finally found a 'curse' that could help him. In doing so, Deidara offered his body as its own form of art, and had three extra mouths embedded into his body, two on each of his palms and one on his chest. These extra mouths were able to consume and mold his sculpting clay in ways normal human hands never could, and gifted them with 'life' powered by chakra.
He offered his talents up to his village, causing his beautiful works of art to explode in dazzling shows of fire and light, but no one seemed to appreciate his artwork as he did. In return for his village's insubordination and unappreciative attitude of his artwork, he fled and became a terrorist bomber for hire.
It wasn't long before his talents drew the attention of the Akatsuki, a group of rogue missing-nin criminals, of which Itachi Uchiha was in fact a part of. He was partnered with Sasori, a puppet-master during his time with the Akatsuki, following orders of their mysterious leader. He most recently kidnapped Gaara from his home in the Village Hidden in the Sand, and nearly killed him.
Personality: Deidara is very cocky and proud. He believes that his artwork, among all others, is the ultimate form, and unbeatable. He loves beauty and art in all its forms, and looks for it in everything. He has a somewhat quick temper, but is easier to annoy rather than enrage.
He tends to get quite angry with those who do not take the time or appreciate 'artwork', although its really just his own way of getting attention. He craves acknowledgment for his work, and deep down he knows his own abilities are unorthodox and unusual, however he rather wants to be admired, and makes every attempt to prove to others, and himself, that he is the best.
